HEES

The Hees winery dates back to 1825 and is located in the village of Auen in the Kurpfalz region, near the Nahe River. Marcus runs the family business with his wife Sabrina, and, like all of our winemakers, he firmly believes that time, gentle workmanship, and manual labor in the partly steep slopes lead to better wines.
Clay schist and sandstone provide perfect conditions for Riesling and Pinot Blanc, with up to 60% of steep slopes where they carefully recultivate selected old vineyards around the village.
Forested hilltops release cool air during the night, increasing the temperature variation between day and night. This variation results in higher acidity and aroma in the grapes, making it ideal for crafting elegant and vibrant Riesling and Pinot Blanc wines.
Their wines are given the time they need to develop finesse, depth, and character, with spectacular vitality and minerality, making them truly unique.

NAHE

The Nahe wine-growing region extends from the Hunsrück to the point where the river flows into the Rhine at Bingen. The lower Nahe primarily consists of quartz and slate soils, while the area around Bad Kreuznach features a landscape shaped by weathered soils of sandstone, loess, and clay.
Consequently, the Nahe wine-growing area offers one of the most diverse ranges of soils in Germany, making it ideal for crafting elegant and vibrant Riesling and Pinot Blanc wines.
