Moric Reserve 2020
Moric Reserve 2020
The Blaufränkisch grapes for Moric Reserve originate from vines aged 25-55 years on the Lutzmannsburg plateau. After a 3-4 week fermentation in steel and open vats, it matures for a minimum of 20 months in 500 L - 4500 L used oak casks. The soil, a combination of sand, clay, loam, and limestone, lends intensity.
It's a more refined version of Blaufränkisch Burgenland and a precursor to Alte Reben Lutzmannsburg due to its old vines.
Expect red berries and thyme in the nose, with cherry, black currant, and violet on the palate.
This wine boasts precise balance between acidity and tannins, displaying remarkable structure and finesse.
