Glimmerschiefer - Ganze Traube 2019

Glimmerschiefer - Ganze Traube 2019

Blaufränkisch grapes come from the Zinnersack block within the single vineyard Bodigraben. The vines, aged 40 years and situated 300 - 400 meters above sea level, grow in mica schist and orthogneis soils.
The winemaking process involves a gentle one-week maceration in open vats, followed by foot-mashing and fermentation. Maturation takes place in an 830 L oak cask made from Neckenmarkt oak.
The resulting wine is highly structured, with balsamic qualities and notes of cherry, all wrapped in an elegant character.
